I've posted in the past about rising food costs hurting the consumer. Well it seems that Barilla is claiming the use of grain for bio-fuels as the cause for rising pasta prices.

I am all for bio-fuel research, but using a staple like wheat to create ethanol is going to cause problems in the world's food supply. There was a time when Italy's poor ate little more than pasta or polenta. Now that same corn and wheat are being put into gas tanks...
