They are still wearing them in Tuscany as far as I have seen. Then again, they are also wearing florescent orange crocks(lol). You should have no problem. Most of the average people aren't that consumed with fashion. However, if you are still in doubt. Pick up a copy of Italian vogue.

Want to join your discussion about men's fashion. Read some articles in "fashion" thread. And i would like to ask men - what do you usually wear in everyday life? Are you interested in latest fashion ideas? Prefer to follow latest lines or classic clothes? Because we can talk long time about men's fashion but real picture is little different i guess...

Actually I have to say, since I live in london, that italian man don't follow the international fashion wave so much...

The young italian man maybe yes. They go often up to england or other big city to get a new vibe.

But the 30-45 years old are a bit retro... =D

Since I am here I changed my touch a bit...
I feel more continental.

Ciao

Italian Vogue is a great source of information about fashion. I read it often and I find it useful.

Also you can "get" ideas from famous people. If you like/relate yourself to a particular celebrity, you can use his fashion ideas. Just google the person's pictures or go to that person's website.

Also it is good to know that there are men who care about their appearances... You will stand out in a good way, trust me.

There are not that many men here who care about it unfortunately . Flip-flops, sweat pants and square shaped t-shirts are very popular where I live (I even sometimes see people wearing flip-flops to the events like weddings)

The Russian mentions above the flip flops at weddings, Nuova Zelanda has taken it a step further - we've made it a national icon! Seriously.

We're in the thick of summer right now () and guys seem to have started wearing pin striped shorts over here. Not relevant anywhere else? Haha

I think the US can compit with the New Zealand for a title "Flip-flops as the country's national icon" Sad though...

I didn't see pin striped shorts here yet.. Give us a few months :-) we're in the middle of winter here.

Happy New Year!
