Default "Foreign" products

In America we have these crazy info-mercials on TV that try to sell us products to solve problems we didn't even know we had.

In the sales pitch (which is usually loud and fast), they boast that the product is "European" or say something like "A product of Italy" in an attempt to sway our opinion and get us to buy their widget.

I was wondering if Europeans/Italians have the same info-mercials boasting that a product is "American" or have labels that said "Made in the USA"? And if so, do you perceive that that makes the product better?

Well, most of the infocommercials i've seen do not say it openly, but since they're american infocommercials just dubbed in italian, located in an american-style pseudo-kitchen, the idea they pass is that.
My favourite is Chef Tony's, the one pretending to have an entire platoon of french cooks as audience (note the US and french flags on the background): a new definition to the word 'kitsch'!

By the way, am I the only one who thinks that Chef Tony looks like Luigi from the Simpsons???? Check it by yourself!
