Smile Can you bring wine back.....????

Hello everyone... Well it is only 39 more days till our Wedding in October. We are vacationing there for 9days in Rome. We have an apartment and I think we are close to the Spanish Steps....but are there some good wineries in and near the Historic part of Rome??? We are wanting to bring back some true Italian wine.
Also, if any of you know of some great places to shop for clothes, food etc....please let me know! Thanks, Amy:

Default Bringing back wine from italy to the US

1) There are security regulations that do not allow carry on wine (liquids ) unless you buy it at the Airport shops - as an alternative you can place them in the luggage compartment if you can pack them well enough.
The import limits in the Us is I think 2 bottles per person but sometimes I took with me more and I never had a problem.
Anyway recently I came out to the conclusion that it is not worth the trouble: the high euro will not save you as much money as before.
2) Fashion Shopping : to me personally it is ore fun shopping downtown Rome - however if you have the time you can go to the
- Castel romano outlet : via di piscina cupa 64 Castel Romano (Roma ) it is ini city for shopping -
another good place is the "Fashion district" at Valmontone with lots of store at discounted prices.

Go at the HOLE IN ONE,
It's a nice wine bar where you can say Hi to Vittorio, The owner.

He will treat you very well.... If you want I can book you a very exclusive wine testing...
He is a master of AIS "Associazione Italiana Sommelier"

Ciao
Guido

Yes, but the wine needs to go in your checked luggage unless you buy it inside security at the airport on your way out. Even in this case, you'll have to transfer it to your checked luggage if you have a connecting flight when you arrive in the US. The rules for liquids here are similar to those in the US - individual containers have to be no larger than 100 ml and everything needs to fit into a sealable plastic bag no larger than 1 liter. You can take 1 liter of wine back to the US before you have to pay duty - the charge beyond the 1 liter limit is about 36 cents per liter. There is detailed customs information here: Wine Club

I bought a bunch of bottles of wine back and many of the bottles broke in the suitcase.

Anaheim White House - The Perfect Pair... California Wine ...Italian wine, you say? After all, it was
made for Italian food. ... California wines don’t need to recover from the shock of a long journey by boat. ...

You can bring it back in your checked luggage as they say, but I believe you are limited to one liter per person ,duty free. There are a lot of wine stores that will ship it back to the states for you but of course you will pay a price. Since I have been back the the states ,I have found some very good sources for Italian wine and the price is very good.Your friends wo't know if you bought it in Italy or whereever. Enjoy the wedding and if you are staying near the Spanish Steps, there are some very exclusive shops right there. Molto caro!
