Dear Friends,

My name is Alessia I am Italian and I also teach Italian in Washington Dc area where I live.

I wanted to invite you to a tour I have organized together to my Italian students in Umbria and Sicily for a total of 10 days. I will be in Italy this Summer and will lead the Sicily part of the tour!

In both places we will stay in beautiful country Houses or Agriturismo in double room occupancy with air conditioning.

We decided to go to Umbria because this is a region with less tourism, where you can truly experience the Italian culture and life.

In Umbria you will visit the main cities: Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi and the Marmore's Falls (the tallest in Europe) and one day will be dedicated entirely to the visit of the Italian Capital, Rome.
An English speaking guide will accompany the group for the entire tour.

We will stay in Orvieto, Umbria in a new elegant country House with access to their wellness center (included on the price of the tour!) to relax after the long day excursions.


Here, the group will taste fresh and genuine Italian food and since it is a country house, all products are
"homemade." Two cooking classes will be offered at the villa.

After 4 wonderful days in Umbria, the group will fly from Rome to Palermo, the main city in Sicily (this flight is
included in the tour cost). I will meet the group at the airport and we will transfer by air conditioned charted bus
to the Agriturismo in Santa Flavia where the group will sleep for the rest of the tour.


In Sicily, we will visit the main beaches, the main cities and, by private boat, we will reach the Aeolian Islands:
Lipari and Vulcano, where we can experience the natural volcanic "spa" (warm mud pools!).

We will also visit: Mount Etna, Taormina, Cefalu', Agrigento and its Valley of Temples and the white rocks beach,
Mondello a small but famous beach town.

The tour will start on June 25 in Orvieto and it will end July 4 in Rome.

There is a maximum number of participants of 12 since I prefer to lead a small group to create a great atmosphere.

participants, I will close the tour.

I spent over a month in Umbria in 2007. Mi e piaciuto moltissimo Umbria. Infatti I did a thread some time back
on the advantages of Umbria over Tuscany precisamente for what you said that Umbria is a region with less tourism
where you can truly experience the Italian culture and life. Grazie for collaborating with me on this. Nobody else did.

From June 16th until July 16th I'll be in northern Italy. Verona, Vicenza, Venezia e cosi via. Altrimenti I would be going along with you.

In fact.. this is what I am trying to do.. people who goes to visit Italy they usually don't really experience it! and they go to the busy touristic expensive places, beautiful.. they are beautiful, but they mostly will meet other foreign instead of Italians (weeeell maybe I am exagerating a little! hehe)
