Ciao a tutti

Be' staremo a vedere -
PS Riconfermo: la grafica del nuovo forum e' solo temporanea - Prima di sviluppare la nuova grafica vorrei essere sicuro che a (quasi ) tutti va bene il nuovo sistema
Paolo

Nice site Paolo =) Hm, I think maybe adding some red to accompany the green would look nice? After all, red and Green are two colours on the Italian flag. Not too much colour though, cause too much colour may make it appear less "professional", but just a little bit of red, maybe for some of the titles would work.
I like the idea of a more networking feel to the new site you've added aswell =)
Oh, and is this site going to replace the current forums once its completed its tester stage?
Well, I'm going to join the new site now, just to keep up the member list and so I wont have to for when/if it does take over this site.

Paolo I've answered your e-mail about this issue.
I would copy what I wrote here but it's in Italian.

some day I read that the most number of people who were ever on this site is 6777 and it was in 2008 so I thought may be we should set a date when we would all be online and invite the most number of people to try to beat that number, I think it will be fun, may be we could have more than one chatbox for that occasion, some riddles, may be even Italian ghost stories, it will be great puplicity for the new site (and this one) and we can announce it on Facebook. and we can do it the same date every year or even better every month, what do you think???

Not sure, but i think we will crash the system, we will use too much bandwidth at the same time, or at least the site will be very slow.
But Paolo could tell us if possible.

Actually the sites runs on a dedicated very powerful server with basically limit in bandwidth so it will work well under a few thousands users load.
The problem is getting people to join, not the bandwidth-
Can somebody else try to subscribe and post in the new system ? And give more feedback - I remind everybody that still needs to be developed ( colors and functionality could be improved a lot of we choose to switch )
The new system is at Life In Italy - Italian Community
PS Unfortunately we never had so many users online at the same time - It might have been a search engine that opened lots of sessions or something like that I assume.

I just did (created my page on the new forum). I really like it, lots of new features. "My page" looks very much like facebook which is convenient. I don't need to figure out how to update it. What would be totally cool is an option to transfer my FB page some how.... P, can u think of a way?
And a question, how can I add friends?
Ciao, the Russian

I put the gist of my e-mail to Paolo here:
The new format by itself is very good, funny and interesting, and passing to it would be a good idea but only if we could do a soft passage from the current forum, without having to lose all thread and accounts.
I say this because
1) We would lose a lot of interesting thread which still grab a lot of visits, many of the guests get here through researches on the web and find old but very useful threads. And new users usually go looking a lot of threads before joining, to understand what it is like.
2) Starting from zero would mean having just a little portion of the 7500 members we have now, if we're lucky only the 400 active members will sign in in the new community. And for a web user a community with only 400 members means only 20 active users, he wouldn't know about the change. I would personally feel it is more difficult to get accepted by a little amount of people, and I'd not be so attracted if I saw it for the first time. While we all know that many users are stunned by all the amount of good informations he can find in the old topics.
3) We would all lose our statistics and things of our profile!
4) We already have Facebook and Skype in LiI, and we could just make them more official, more connected to the site, and not just in a thread.
There was more in my e-mail, and it was explained better, but it was in Italian!
