Thanks for the suggestions = However this are all for the forum. The forum is using pre-written software : vbulletin - Vbulletin is the most popular forum software and it is also considered the best. I did a few changes to adapt it to Life in Italy however the changes are small - It is difficult to change the 'behavior' - But I know the falks at vbulletin are working on a completely new version ( probably out by year end or so ) -
PS The blog however is the vbullting blog and I can see it is pretty rudimental - Since this is version 1 I hope version 2 will have some improvements
I was looking more for suggestion like : We need a section where we can post our resume if we are looking for a job in Italy - A classified section could be good and so on-

I don't know what you mean by "quicker" ways to get to member profiles and home, for the first it takes two clicks, and only one for the latter.
Well I'll be darned, Zidanie. You are right. I learn something new about this site every day! I never tried clicking on the member's name in a post. Sono una frana!!!! Before, I always went to "Members List" and then often had to go through several pages to get to the Member's Profile.

Paolo, would there be a better way to do the food reviews? I find it quite awkward to look thru and it doesn't really tell me much. Maybe you can just eliminate it altogether. It doesn't look like many people look at it anyway.
Also when you go into the Image Gallery, you can get back to the forum, I usually have to go into blogs to get back. Can you please fix that?

Have fun at the beach and Buon ferroagosto!

ciao tutti

just came back from a week holiday...

i agree with what Danno said regarding the Food review
- i think its too 'US oriented' and taking up too much spaces
- but the recipes section are greatly appreciated

i too hope that there's some possibility to navigate quicker between the forum and the main website i.e to check for newly posted news on italy etc..

Ronald, I agree - Dan, Guido, Frank, "I'm only here to annoy you" (CJ), Brian Appleton - where are they? I enjoyed their posts, and miss their input. Just as well Sardoman's back!

I believe i suggested in the past about a more in depth fashion section. What the internet seems to lack is adequate information on male fashion from italy. I know i had a post on it and someone commented on how they would like to help in that, i just dont recall who it was off hand. Maybe you remember Paolo?

Also i think that a classified section would be a very good idea. Or maybe a section that would link you to HR information to various italian companies, whether it's in italy or not (ex: chicago....hint hint).

Dan should be back in a month or so ... maybe - Right now he is living on a island off South America for an ecological project - We still collaborate since I mantain www.wikiverde.org
Guido is maybe taking is Italian month off ...

Food reviews: Well when I first got to the US I bought so many time so bad food that was sold as Italian and I thought it could be useful -
Danno for example if you select Cheeses
http://my.lifeinitaly.com/food/showcat.php/cat/5
The best rated is a Buffalo Mozzarella sold at costco

Classifieds and work opportunities: Yes I am thinking on developing both - It is not the developing part thta scares me however: I am thinking how I can get classifieds and posting from companies that offer a work - and hos to get a better offering that Jobrapido for example

I was reading an older post and noticed someone posted an idea. Maybe for older posts we should have an archive folder, this way we arent replying to 2 year old posts not realizing how old they are. Just a suggestion

Thanks JoeItalia, I was going to say the same thing.
I think we should archive very old threads, and in case someone has to add something the previous discussion can be linked. (not to mention it seldom happens that a discussion with no posts since 2 years has still something to be said)
