Hello from "Little Italy" Australia
Hello everyone. My husband and I live in Townsville, Australia. However I was born in a smaller town an hours drive away from Townsville called Ingham which some of you may have already heard referred to as "Little Italy". It is a town predominately of new, first, and second generation Italians and Sicilians and still steeped in many italian traditions. It is our intention to one day (hopefully soon) retire to Italy (europe), failing that "Little Italy" Ingham, but still visit Italy.
We have always been taken back by the warmth, friendship, compassion, and humour (not to forget the incredible cooking skills) that the Italian inhabitants of Ingham are synimonous with. And it is because of these memories from my childhood that we dream of visiting (if not living) in Italy one day.
So to all a very warm hello from Australia....I look forward to many hours of "chatting" with new friends. Perhaps some of you have family/ friends in Ingham....sometimes it is a very small world.
Ciao.
