Default Guide to living in Italy

Ciao Italians and Italian Lovers, like me you are a lover of all things Italian...tell me who can blame you? The MOST awesome and coveted country on the planet. With all the hustle and bustle, stop and see the people, in every race and color Italians stand out amongst them with thier fiery and passion!
My freinds, I need your help.....as I embark on the most laborious and expensive move in my life, we leave the safety of America to join those quirky and loveable lot in Italy- lock, stock and barrel. Although we cannot bring the Sailboat, we will move the car and some furniture-if you have done this already, I need your advice and tale of adventure.
We will relocate to Vencenza, and know absoloutly nothing as to finding decent and affordable living, putting 2 talented and brilliant children into thier education process.
If you would tell me, I promise to listen to every dribbling tale you offer without prose.
I am in debt to you for your help and input-
Your new freind, Lauren

Lauren, welcome to the forum. I am sure there is someone here to help you out. Just keep trying or post to another thread such as living in Italy. I admire your leap in faith to move to Italy without knowing where you are going to live or what you wil be doing. Good Luck.
Ciao, Dan

Default I lived in Vicenza for 2 years and loved every minute of it!!!

I lived in Vicenza molti anni fa. Vicenza is such an interesting fun place. The people in Vicenza sono molto gentile.
I literally cried when I had to leave. Was homesick for Vicenza per anni e anni. Would dream about Vicenza all the time.

Have a married couple friends that are living there now. Could get you connected with them.

Venezia is only 45 minutes away from Vicenza and Verona is even closer in the opposite direction. So I would go to
Venice one weekend and then Verona the next weekend. I lost count how many times I've been to Venezia and Verona.
Lago di Garda the largest lake in Italy is real close to Verona.

I use to go snow skiing every winter in Cortina and other ski resorts near Vicenza.
That part of Italy has some of the most beautiful pinteresco mountain areas in the world. Sono i Alpi tu sai.

So you are so lucky to be moving to Vicenza. Congratulations!!!! It will be the trip and the adventure of a life time. It was for me!

Use to go to this festival every year.
