Default Greetings and Salutations

Hey All,
I am a student of History in California, and I would like to continue my schooling in Italy. I am working on the language (though that will not reach completion until I actually have people to practice with.) The problem is, I have no idea how to go about this.

Does anyone have any suggestions, resources, or anything at all that would assist my on my little personal quest? I just finished my AA in pointless stuff, and was going to transfer to UCSD, but when I started thinking about it, I realized that if I really wanted to study classic history, I needed to go to the source. Hence, the beginnings of this. Anything you have would be helpful!

Tripps

Benvenuto...welcome to the forum. You will have no problem practicing your Italian here. There are several people on this forum who were born and raised in Italy so they speak fluent Italian. The users "Paolo" and "Zidanie" are the first people that come to mind. We have a forum that is dedicated solely to learning the language and we have another forum where users are only allowed to speak in Italian...no English allowed!

if you ever need help with Italian grammar, myself and the user "Villa" are always making posts related to various different grammar topics such as verb tenses, parts of speach, vocabulary, etc. Everyone on this forum is very helpful so do not hesitate to ask for help.

Best of luck!

Hello and welcome.

For a starter, you should take a look at this page:

Ministero Dell'Interno - Scheda Editoriale

It's the page about immigration of the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs website.

Here you can find a list of Italian Universities: List of universities in Italy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for the language, as Giacomo said, you'll find precious resources here on the forum and on the main website.

Have a nice stay here!

Giacomo and Ancos already said everything, I just add my welcome, and my best wishes for your plan of continuing your education in Italy.
Studying History in Italy is like studying Drinking in a pub!

If you want to learn Italian we have a whole section dedicated to it, and our "Grammar Teachers" (Giacomo and Villa ) made a lot of great threads which can help you find your way in the insidious rules of Italian language. You can find a list of important threads here
Welcome again, and good posts!

hi tripps, welcome to the forum
I'm struggling with the language myself not because it's hard or anything, the language is beautifull but I gotta addmit I'm sooo lazy I think it will help if you find a fellow learner to learn the language together and come up with a schedule to stick to, just find a passionate one who won't slow you down.
