Default Ciao a tutti

Ciao sono italiano and i like talking about my culture and my nation. I love Italy, italian places, italian food and women ;-)
If anyone need help for everything i'm glad to help you guys.
Not only I'm italian but in Italy i lived in many places North and South so I know much more about culture, food and way of life than the most italians.
A presto Sapore di sale

Default Beautifull cities

Ciao Teresa!

I was born in Genoa but my family come from Calabria. I have been lived in Genoa till 20 and then I lived in Macerata, Cuneo, Valtellina and Lecco now.
Genoa is a very nice town, I love it. Genoa and ligurian rivieras are wonderfull. Have you ever visited 5 terre, Portofino, Camogli, Zoagli, Varazze, Albissola, Loano, Alassio, Sanremo? Genoa is so close between the sea and mountains and it grew up like one of the most important sea town in Italy. It was one of the repubbliche marinare with Amalfi, Pisa and Venice. Genoa was so important for commerce but I love it for pesto, farinata di ceci, fish and when you go around in the centro storico in the mornings you can smell a great focaccia smell.......everywhere

Macerata is a very small town in Marche region (one of the best region in Italy and few known) it's old and the centro storico in inside the old walls.
People from Marche are so sociable and so true.

Lecco is a beautifull place on Como lake. It's very important for Promessi Sposi places (Alessandro Manzoni romance) but it's very pretty and livable.

I love Italy

Default Lake Como

It all sounds so gorgeous!

I have never been to Genoa or the areas around it. I need to go. I hope to be able to visit it maybe my next trip.

Every time I visit Italy I try to go to a new place and spend at least a week there, more time if I can. My next goal is to stay in Umbria for two or three weeks, and then take trains and buses to nearby areas for day or two-day visits.

I want to go to Lake Como -- it is so beautiful in all the photos I've seen.

Hmmm.
Every time I talk about Italy I realize how much I want to be there.....

Teresa

Hi Teresa, Hi saporedisale.
I was born in Genoa too....exactly in Voltri.
My parents moved to the Marche when I was about 3 months old...so I've never lived il Liguria.
I lived in Falconara Marittima for 33 years then I moved to the US....2 years ago.
I agree with you, Marche is one of the best region in Italy (I love Toscany...though).
Macerata, Ascoli Piceno, Loreto and much more cities are just beautiful and plenty of history.
What I love best of the Marche is the countryside, I used to own a motorbike when I lived there and the Marche and Toscany countriside where my favorite destinations during my Sunday's tours.
But...part of my heart is still in Liguria, I still have relatives there and I go whenever I can.
Of course pesto is my favorite pasta sauce and I love the focaccia and the canestrelli!!!
