Hello Paolo,
My wife and I have visited Italy five times over the last 12 years, mostly Roma but also Firenze, Milano, Orvieto and Venezia. My wife's great-grandfather was an artist in residence at the American Academy in Rome in the 1920s and we have followed a family tradition for a love and appreciation of all things Italian.

I found your website while researching travel in Italy on motorcycle/scooter. We hope to make a trip to Italy in 2010 and tour lesser known destinations in Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo and Marche on two wheels.

I am a "destination expert" on Rome at Trip Advisor... but am hardly an expert and am always learning more about Italy.

It is nice to have somebody from Tripadvisor here on this forum - I am hoping that I will be able to add soon also to this site functionality of Trip Advisor - Of course we will be limited to Italy -

My hose is on Bolsena Lake and at the border of Umbria Tuscany and Lazio so I am getting familiar with that area - If you like lakes it is an excellent base so you can mix lake activities with sigh seeing -

I must say Abruzzo and Umbria lesser known places are often precious, while Lazio's ones never fascinated me.

I live near Washington DC - In Rockville MD - I bought a house in Bolsena 2 years ago - The main reason I think the Bolsena area is as beautiful as Tuscany or better and still has Lazio prices...
There is for example Civita near Bolsena
Civita di Bagnoregio | Italy
- Orvieto - Viterbo...plenty to see anyway -
PS I am leaving tomorrow for 6 weeks so I will not be online probably for a day or two -
