Default Thinking about making a company in Italy.

My name is Sergei, I'm from Russia. At the moment I work with some Italian firms, I buy stock of yarn or stock of clothes and sell it in Russia. Also we produce designer knitwear of high quality. Does anybody know how to open a company in Italy or may be somebody wants to do it together with me?

Default companies

Privyet Sergei...

The rules and regulations that govern companies in Italy are quite complex and multifarious. The costs of establishing a business (compared to the UK for example) are also quite high.

However, there have been some reforms where the Italian Civil Code has been amended to introduce: changes to the structure of commercial organisations, new financial instruments and new rules regarding corporate responsibility etc.

In essence, the type of Italian commercial organisations are as follows:

SNC società in nome collettivo or general partnership

SAS società in accomandita semplice or limited partnership

SAPA società in accomandita per azioni or partnership limited by shares

SRL società di responsabilità limitata or Limited liability company

SPA società per azioni or joint stock Company

Each has its own set up critera and so my advice to you would be to seek proper and professional legal/taxation advice regarding the best option if you are really serious about this.

If you would like to discuss this further or explore some other opportunities, please let me know.

Hi Sergei,

My name is Richard. I am at the moment considering purchasing stock (clothes and shoes mainly) from Italy, importing them to the UK and then selling them. I am right at the very beginning of this journey, and would appreciate any direction you could offer on suppliers etc.. I don't think we would be competitors (me in UK, you in Russia).

It is also my dream to have a company in Italy so that I can eventually more there.

Thank you.

Richard.
