I guess they are averages or norms. I am a U.S. Government employee and I get 30 days of vacation a year and that does not include weekends I also pay income tax so don't say "that's where our tax money goes" . I retire in 25 days so now I will have 365 days of vacation. Yay!!

Here in the U.S. the Government income tax can be up to 38 % + social Security + state + local ,so in reality when it is over we pay I would estimate 50 % of income on Tax ******And then also there is capital gains on investments and sale ....gas guzzler etc ....We are 7th in the world on wages but when one looks at the tax situation it turns into a mirage !!!!

I think that capital gain tax is only 15% at this time but it might be raised soon by the Obama administration.

Capital gains can go from 15 % to 28 % if you are in the 38 % tax schedule , but 15 % is the norm only certain item sales can raise it from 15 .....it is a complex system! just like the rest of the U.S. tax code / it really is enough to piss off the Pope **** Yes we have to pay Caesar !
