Default Re: what's up ?!!

glad you asked =D (btw didn't mean to reply that late :O)
the reason why I first decided I wanted medical school is for me to specialize in either psychology or neurosurgery, also thought about forensic medicine and diagnostic medicine
but I don't think am gonna specialize in forensic, I like investigating and I'm not realy disgusted easily but to me the dead body is only the bottle where the soul was kept and I believe there is more to humans than just an empty bottle
diagnostic is also appealing to me coz it involves investigations so to speak
but what I feel most passionate about (I think) is psychology and neurosurgery also I think I heard about neuropsychology which I'm assuming would involve both, I hate psychologists who think they have the right to tell people what's right and what's wrong and think that it's their right to judge people according to some tests they are taught at school, so I want to study the human behavior while knowing that no matter how many people I examine I'll never have the right to tell people they're crazy or mentally ill, but I (or anyone) have the right to have my theories and opinions of people that might be right or wrong, also to work with people that are different and don't just follow the stupid rules put by humans and followed by other humans just because these rules are popular.

so when I first decided I want medicine it wasn't to help people because I believe that no matter what your job is you are helping people in a greater way than you could possibly imagine

I know I talked a lot but it was your fault, you asked LOL thanks for asking
common tell me what's going on with your work, what do you do, any good movies you've watched recently?

Work is good. As you probably know, I am a high school teacher. I really like working with the kids, they always keep you on your toes. We are getting ready to celebrate the day of the dead which is a holiday celebrated in Spanish Speaking Countries in honor of the deceased. The kids will bring in food and pictures of their deceased relatives so they can make an altar! It's going to be a blast!

Yes, and what I want my students to understand is that on Day of The Dead, people are happy. It is not a sad day. Everyone is dancing and singing and having fun. By the way, congrats on becoming a noted member Nouran!

Hello everyone. Well I decided to participate in this conversation, I hope I am not interupting anything lol. Well I am currently in University majoring in Social Work and minoring in Italian studies. I am in my second year. Only this semester due to my mother having cronic cancer and having to deal with being her primary caregiver I am only going part time. It's been really hard but it's really put life into perspective for me as well.

What else is new.... yes I am excited for my trip to Italy in January. It's been 5 years now since I have been... time sure does go by quickly.

Other then that nothing new just busy studying and working leaving no time for any social events unless its an obligatioin lol.

Also if the thread was in Italian I could read it and understand it but I would be too afraid to write back since I am shy to write sometimes since I am still learning all the grammer.

Also I forgot to say that in the end it doesn't matter what profession you decide to have in life, but what matters is if you are doing what you want to do.

bella donna I'm speechless, what you are doing is amazing, what you are saying is amazing, all my wishes and prayers for your mom to get better
thanx so much giacomo, now that I'm a noted member I think we should have a club just for us lol just teasing
when I first read your post about the students bringing in photos of their deceased relatives the first idea that popped up in my mind was them remembering those dead loved ones and feeling sad but then I thought it would actually be good if they get used to the idea every year and realising they don't have to forget about them, I saw that documentary about ancient Egypt where people would actually go to those tombs and celebrate, they called these places cities of the dead, but I wanted to wait before I post to get more info about the subject but I guess you could do that I really really am turning into such a lazy person, I quit tennis, I'm not studying (not a new thing ), and I think I'm about to sleep in minutes

Nouran first of all thank you and what I am doing for my mother is nothing compared the many years she invested into me and I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for her so this is nothing in comparassion to what she has done for me.

As to being lazy it's a easy thing to do especially when life is get's really busy the most amazing feeling is doing nothing lol. Though you taking medicine I hardly believe you are the type that doesn't study lol. It takes a hard student to get that far educationally.
