VATICAN BODY APPROVES JOHN PAUL II'S BEATIFICATION!!

I know that many people on our forum don't care for the Catholic Church but the above headline makes me very happy! John Paul II was a great pope who did so much for the young people. I hope that Pope Bendecit approves his beatification!

Si molto. Io penso che non era una coincidenza che abbiamo avuti un Papa dall'Europa Orientale durante la caduta dell'Unione Sovietica.

I'm not a Catholic and over the years have felt very little sympathy for anyone who, as I (personally) see it, is 'locked in their clutches'.

But then in 1958 along came Papa Roncaldi who seemed to show a slightly better side of that religion - at that time such a pacific face was a welcome sight to many other religions. And then? Well in 1978 along came Karol Wotylwa - Pope John Paul II - and what a wonderful breath of fresh air he turned out to be for the World.

No I still would not, and will never embrace the Catholic faith, but he presented it in a more acceptable and humane way to many like me who find it often inhumane and - dare I say it - at times very unchristian.

I agree with Calimero, despite not being a Catholic I appreciate John Paul II as a person and as a Nation leader.

Sono d'accordo con tutti voi, Giovanni Paolo II era fantastico. Ma sono orgoglioso di essere cattolico Calimero!

I agree with all of you that John paul II was a great pope but Calimero I am proud to be Catholic!

Sadly the Catholic Church has confirmed once again its will not to evolve and improve, having Ratzinger succeed to JP2. Not exactly a young and tolerant man.

Yes - for what is right 'in his eyes'...

Maybe others see things differently.

It may be that others are right, OR wrong - but the keyword must be 'tolerance' from BOTH sides!
