Very good article!

I have a Canon SD800 IS. I think the issue now is trying to tinker with the camera and figure out how to change the settings. The reason i ask all this is because i came across a link where they had long exposure shots. The pictures were beautiful, and i've always wanted to take pics like that. Just a random thought on my part i guess

A point and shoot then. You can set your exposure compensation through the Func button (I'm quite sure you know this), not forgetting to set your white balance and ISO, although anything above 400-800 is going to be grainy. If shutter speed is longer than a second you will have to set your speed manually in a trick mode. And... don't forget to use a tripod (camera shake) !

To get streaks of car lights in the dark: a starting point would be around 8 seconds at f/11, ISO 100. Play with the settings, try automatic first and if you are able to read the settings from that photo, adjust accordingly manually. Have fun.

Last year I got a Nikon D60. My friends from France had a Nikon D40 and was going to get that
camera until I saw the D60. It takes great pictures as long as there is plenty of light.

I was taking a lot of pictures of the local high school football games down on the field and
getting great pictures but when it would get dark the pictures would go blurry. Even if the
light is not right in a room the pictues will be blurry. What do I have to do? Have a DVD
instructional and a book on the Nikon D60 but still can't get it to work just right under
limited lighting. My little Kodak camera works just fine with limited lighting. It's ironic.

Need to know because I'm off to France and Italy this June and want to take thousands of pictures.

Villa, which lens do you use? Width, focal range?
