Default Need help in calling Italy

I'm trying to call a friend that lives near Trento, Italy. I bought one of thsoe AT&T prepaid
phone cards. After I dial the card number and put in the pin it says to now dial the number.
So I dial 011 which is the long distance number for Italy. But it keeps saying invalid number.
What am I doing wrong or what number should I be dialing first?

Wasn't it +0039?
And, did you put the zone code? (like 06 for Rome, 081 for Naples..)

Yes, 0039 is the number I have but that doesn't work either when I dial. There telling me to dial 011 first so I've tried that and it doesn't work. Then when I dial 0039 first that doesn't work either.

Hi Villa, Have you made any progress with your phone call? The directions I have are: After dialing your calling card info, you should dial 011-39 and then the local #. Good Luck if you haven't gotten through yet!

Villa I personally use Skype or Vonage - I have a Vonage phone line and for a flat fee of about $35 a month you can call the US and most of Europe ( excluding cell phones ) as long as you want - Vonage calls are also very clear now ...better than my other non-internet line !
