Default Italian, Mexican, White, Black we all came out of Africa and are all the equal!

What better time with a black/white man in the White House for us to remember that Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 and here we are 200 years later in 2009 with an historic election. To move past the issue of race that have us, let us become acquainted with our own racial history. Some of us who appear as white will find we have black blood and vice versa.

Really? God created man in Africa?

Also, we are not all the same!!

Equality has nothing to do with "being the same".

FYI: The DNA kit costs $99.95

This is suppose to be a positive message. We are the same.
Not saying we are treated the same. That's the whole point.
We are not treated the same but we are all the same.

Villa, I think what he is getting at is that we are not all the same. If everyone was the same we wouldn't have a site called lifeinitaly.com, it'd be lifeonearth.com. If everyone was the same we'd have no difference in culture, and life would be boring.

I'm a little confused. How does a DNA determain your culture/race beyond your parents?

I do agree that we could have ancestors with origions that we never expected. Especially if you live in the USA.

I think there are good qualties and bad qualties with every single culture and race. Some have more good qualities than bad qualities and others have more bad qualities than good qualties, but I don't think any one culture or race dominates all the others.

I'm an agnostic so I can't really say I agree that life started in one place. I believe life started in all parts of the world. If that makes any sense.

I also just want to say that I proudly voted or Obama. I disagree with some of the things he wants to do, but I think he'll be a great president. I just hope he remains faithful to his wife unlike Clinton. I liked Clinton as president but I hated the fact he cheated on his wife. That's a different subject though.

Yes, life would be boring without different cultures. I like the fact that there are different cultures.

I just wish that people would see culture differences rather than race. In other words I wish people would like or dislike how one lives rather than like or dislike someone based on the color of their skin.

We are all human beings is the point. Nobody is better or worse than anybody else because of their race or skin color.

Just a simple positive message.

DNA has nothing to do with culture what so ever. A person could be from Chinese, Japanese or anyother Asian group or race but
if he or she were rasied in Italy by Italian parents they would be culturally Italian. But then again this is not the point to this thread.

The point is we should all treat each other the same based on character and not on skin color or race.

I agree!

The USA may have made history with the first African-American president, but I think we are still a long way away from Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream.

There are some people who voted for Obama just because he was African-American. I have to admit that wound up being a good thing because I think he'll be a great president. Then there were also people who voted against him just because he was African-American.

I love my family and I'm very thankful I have family, but most of my family members are raciest themselves. One being raciest against her own race. There are 3 people in my family who believe that Obama is the anti-christ and that an African-American is not capable of running the country. Another person in my family will only date black people because she believes they are the only race with a big "manhood" so they are the only ones capable of pleasing a woman. Also that same person wound up getting pregnant with a black guy's baby. Her mother said some of the meanest things about her unborn grandchild and her daughter. I was one of the few people in my family who could care less what color the baby came out just as long as the baby was healthy. I bacame angery when she got back together with the jerk and wound up pregnant again after the guy left her because she wouldn't get an abortion and then wound up getting at least 2 more girls pregnant and then suddenly after 2 years of not being in his son's life he wanted to be in it because supposely the difficult parts were over. It makes me sick that a guy like that can keep making babies while women and even men like me are going through infertility problems.

Sorry, I went way off topic again. I guess I just needed to let that all out.

I wish everyone could think the way you do. The world has come a little closer to everyone being created equal, but I still think there is a long way to go.

I also happen to admire those people who had to go through difficult times just because of the color of their skin but still managed to be peaceful. If I ever had to go through that extreme of racisim I don't think I would be able to be so peaceful.

Villa - according a recent poll, religion is more divisive than race in the UK :-

Religion is a more divisive issue than race in Britain, a majority of people believe...

Six in ten respondents to a major opinion poll agreed that faith was the more divisive characteristic, while only two out of ten disagreed.
Black, Muslim and non-Muslim Asian respondents were more likely than the country as a whole to agree that religion was more divisive.

Religion being an indicator of your basic personal beliefs and values. It can be very difficult to be tolerant when your values and morals are completely different from someone else's, but does this make you better than them, and indeed they you?
