Even with a depleted team they battled. that penalty kick was bad. I could see it in the goalies eyes.

The penalities were really disappointing.

At least Valentino Rossi beat Dani Pedrosa from Spain in the British Moto GP.

Default Re: Forza Azzuri

Hi All-

I wanted to place this question here because it deals with the Azzurri and didn't seem the need to start a whole new topic on this, but can anyone answer the real reason Antonio Cassano is purposely being left out of the Azzurri? Given their loss against Egypt yesterday at the Confederations Cup, one would think that Marcello Lippi may have to at least consider the man he refuses to add. I know Cassano had many problems in terms of his behavior early in his career, but since he returned to Serie A, he performed well for Sampdoria and is arguably one of Italy's best dribblers. Or, do the players hate him so much that he is too toxic to put on a team? Losing 1-0 to Egypt indicates that keeping Cassano off and Luca Toni (a player everyone undeservingly seems to criticize as well) on the Azzurri is questionable. Anyone have other ideas on the stubborn omission?

I think this squad is being too experimental, Lippi should settle down with a definite starting layup, without changing so much. Let's hope we win against Brasil, that would erase the shame of yesterday's defeat.

Yes, it was experimental and perhaps the only bright spot is they exited the Confederations Cup early, not the bigger dance next year in South Africa. However, it looks like Lippi will need to go back to the drawing board, as being shutout in losses against polar opposites, Egypt and Brazil, makes one wonder where the problems really exist.
