Post The new Fiat 500c

|
|
The new 500C is exactly the same size as the basic model (3.55 m x 1.65 m x 1.49 m), and utilises the same three powerplants: 1.3 litre 75 hp MultiJet Turbodiesel coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission, and the two 1.2 litre 69 hp and 1.4 litre 100 hp petrol engines, available with either manual or robotised Dualogic transmission.

The car incorporates the company’s recently announced Start&Stop system, an innovative device which initiates engine shutdown and subsequent re-ignition. To this end, at every complete stop, when shifting to neutral and releasing the clutch, the engine is switched off, and then restarted simply by selecting a gear.

Created by the Fiat Styling Centre and manufactured at the Tichy plant in Poland, the Fiat 500C incorporates all the strong points of the basic model, namely top-of-segment safety features, proper accommodation for four adults, and generous luggage space combined with easy loading potential, even with the soft top fully open, thanks to a clever parallelogram hinge system.

The soft top of the Fiat 500C stands out for its refined electrically operated linkage and engineering solutions of great quality and finish, such as the glass rear window and the built-in centrally positioned high mounted stop light. Available in three colours (ivory, red and black), this original soft top will be matched with several body colours, two of which have been conceived specifically for the new car in a brilliant Pearl Red and a special Warm Grey.

Thanks to the adoption of the innovative sliding soft top combined with a design concept which retains the vehicle’s all-round protection, the Fiat 500C offers a delightful motoring experience at any time of the year. All told, its many special features make this new car one of the best equipped cabriolet models currently available in the city-car segment.

From a woman's "cute car" viewpoint, I would have bought one, but my italian boyfriend gave it the thumbs down. Being the previous owner of a Fiat "Bambino", I should actually know better :-)

It is cute though ... especially in red.

hihihiii I like neither of them lol
one of the problems of small cars is that they aren't as stable as wider ones, and so you have to be more cautious when taking high speed turns,
but they are good for parking spaces, especially when those idiots who think they own the street park exactly in the middle between 2 cars not allowing you to park in front of them nor behind their stupid car it pisses me off now, I wonder how I'll be like when I actually start driving in the main streets

many thanks to u, guys
u gave me very useful thoughts about the car
me and a friend were thinking about purchasing this car, he likes it very much (actually he likes any cute car ) but i wasn't sure about it, then i had the idea to ask the people of the manefacturer country
now i hope we should look for another one, maybe polo

and Nouran, do u think it is easy to drive in our "beloved" country ?
if i were a girl and even had the money for the car, i would stay at home and waited for the one who would take me on his ride

are you saying that guys are better drivers than girls are???
I don't think that once I get my driver's license and of course a car I'd ever allow anyone to give me rides, at all, no matter what!!!
o.k. may be if I had an accident and either I'm injured or my car is or may be if I'm going out with my friends and it would take a long drive, in that case I might let them drive lol

Better choice for quality, definitely. Great cars from VW of course, but over expensive for what they are. BUT, the resale value is higher than those from other manufacturers.

Shall I open up the discussion?

I had an old 500 in England that had the pistons re-bored after the engine died (so it was nearer a 600) - that did 70mph (112kph) - scary, but fun!
