Default Few Questions - Car License, Shipment, etc

Hi all,

I have a few questions on the automotive topic and i'm seeking some help.

I would like to ship over my Honda Civic from Canada (Toronto, Ontario) to possibly Rome or Pescara (i'll be heading to Abruzzo). I will be staying for 1-2 years, maybe more. Does anyone have a preference for low cost reliable shipment companies? On top of the shipping costs, what else will I have to pay? I read that duties are waved if I have proof of over 1 year ownership of the car. Will there be any other taxes and large fees when shipping and registering a car in Italy? I'm not sure if this weill help with anything, but i'm currently in the process of obtaining my Italian Citizenship and Passport so I will have dual citizenship. My parents are still gathering their information and birth certificates so I can submit the request.

When I arrive, will I have to take an Italian license or will my Canadian license be valid? What are the current gas prices in Italy (per litre)? What's an average insurance quote for most 9 year old cars or even Hondas?

Thanks a lot
