Yesterday I came back from a trip to Rome.
Between the many worders that there are, I was fortunate enough to visit
Villa D'este, one of the most famous Architectural work in the Rome province.
Little historical introduction
The villa was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este.
The work of the villa were entrusted to the architect Pirro Ligorio flanked by an impressive number of artists and artisans.
The construction of the villa, however, followed the curial vicissitudes.
The cardinal had just time to enjoy the solemn inauguration of the house in September of 1572, with the visit of Pope Gregory XIII, and then died in December of that year.
Wonders in the Wonder Fontana dell'Organo
The Fontana dell'Organo,
Fountain of Organ, or
Hydraulic organ, owes its name to the miraculous mechanism for water that is just inside, which meant that we should hear the reasons for organ.
Built between 1568 and 1611, consists of a tall building in baroque style, designed by Pirro Ligorio. The facade is decorated with a series of inspired floral decorations, sirens, heraldic symbols, winged victories and sea shells.
Even today, you can hear, every 2 hours, the sound emitted by the organ of the fountain.
A magic show for the eyes and ears that we certainly must not be missed.
Cento Fontane
The Cento Fontane,
One Hundred Fountain, Designed by Pirro Ligorio, lining an avenue one hundred feet long that connects the Fontana dell'Ovato, also known as Fountain of Tivoli, with the Rometta, also known as Fountain of Roma.
The three small streams that form parallel, at different heights, represent the Albuneo river, the Aniene river and the Ercolaneo river, the three tributaries of the Tevere.
Fontana di Nettuno
The Fontana di Nettuno,
Fountain of Nettuno, is the most impressive and spectacular fountain in the villa, for large quantities of water and the powerful jets that launch high into the air sketches, is the most recent: it was built in 1927 by Attilio Rossi, with the collaboration of the engineer Emo Salvi restoring the picturesque waterfall of Bernini.
The upper part is formed by the fountain square in front of the railing of the organ, below which there are three viable nymphs and intercommunication between them, where the thunderous sound of water cascading powerfully is deafening.
Conclusions
Besides these, there are many other wonders that deserve to be visited and viewed up close, so if you've a possibility to became in Rome, visit Villa D'Este is a must
