Lightbulb oil painting

I was wondering is there a certain type of oil to use with oil colours to make paintings dry fast ?!

Hi Nouran,

I don't know that one oil dries faster than another. I would only suggest that for the quickest drying, try to use as little oil as possible and try to paint thinner rather than thicker. You could try a "drying medium" such as Liquin or Maroger's or others that you find on a google search for say, "oil paint quick drying medium." Quick drying oil paint is kind of an oxymoron. You could try the water based oil paints, that might get you a similar quality but faster drying. Good Luck!

Ciao Nouran,

I have done some oil painting in the past but have not done so in many years. Yes, you would mix the liquin with the oil paint. According to this site (Winsor & Newton Liquin Mediums - BLICK art materials) the paint dries in 1 to 5 days, depending on the paint used.

I have not heard of the "tarabanteena oil" and I am sorry, I have none of my paintings or drawings on the web. Maybe someday I will.

Good luck with your painting!!!! Tom
