trying to identify 1980s Italian comedy
Back in 1986, I caught a bit of a movie on TV in Italy and have been wanting to find it ever since. (Okay, it hasn't been a constant quest, but you get the idea.) The main character was a guy probably in his '20s who looked a little like a shaggy Begnini. I only remember a few bits from some early scenes:
- he wakes up, uses the bathroom, and is so astonished by his own volume of output he begins calling out for help
- his mother phones several times, crying about him moving out and living on his own. A few minutes later as he leaves his apartment, the door down the hall opens up and there she is - he's only moved next door, but she's crying and begging him to come back home.
- he goes for a job interview at some kind of factory where everyone seems to be missing a few fingers - even the safety signs depict hands that have had a few digits lopped off.
The film was very funny and I'd love to find it again and finally see the rest of it. I believe it was a theatrical release - probably from 1983-1985 - though I suppose it may have been made for TV. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
