Just watched this movie on DVD. It's very well done and has some great fight scenes.
If you are a fan of the Borne films and Daniel Craig’s James Bond, then Taken is for you.

The film takes place mostly in Paris and that is what caught my interest since I'm going to
Paris June 16th which is just a few weeks away. The bad guys are the Albanians who deal in
trafficing women. Met Albanians in Italy in 2007 and for sure I'll see more of them this
summer when I go down to Italy after Paris.

If I had never been to Paris and didn't know any better would not feel much like going there
after seeing this movie. Even still after seeing this movie I don't think anybody in their
right mind would feel safe letting their 17 year old daughter go there alone.

At any rate the trafficing of women in Europe is very real and should be a concern to us all.

Saw the film this winter and was glad my daughter is that age any more. he action was none stop! but you are right that traffic of women is very prevalent and poeple need to be more aware that it is gonng on. Trafficing in young children is equally disgraceful.

Recently watched this film too. I liked it. Wondering about the Albanian element? Seems like someone on the forum should be able to comment on Albanian organized crime? (Since you can see Albania across the sea from Italy - I think?)

I watched a Russian film about human trafficking before watching Taken. I can't believe this type of horror actually exists.
