Miracle at St. Anna - The untold story of courage in Florence, Italy
Just watched this movie. E molto buono. The movie is in English but there is also a lot of Italian spoken with subtitles.
Miracle at St. Anna follows four black American soldiers of the all-black 92nd Infantry Division who get trapped near a
small Tuscan village on the Gothic Line during the Italian Campaign of World War II after one of them risks his life to save an Italian boy.
The story is inspired by the August 1944 Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre perpetrated by the Waffen-SS. There is also a reference
to a sculpted head from Ponte Santa Trinita in Florence that acts as a Macguffin. The movie was shot in several location in the
Valley of the River Serchio (Piano di Gioviano, initial battle scene) and in the villages of Colognora (near Pescaglia)and Colle
and on Passo Croce (Apuan Alps). These localities are part of the Serchio River Valley, Garfagnana, and Apuan Alps scenic
areas of the Privince of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy.
