Default Angeli e Demoni

yesterday evening I saw the movie "Angeli e Demoni" based on Dan Brown's book.

I have read his books "angeli e demoni" and "the da vinci code" and seen the movies. "the da vinci code" i think is a great book, when you read it your imagination fly and you enter a very beautiful story (I knew the legend of holy graal but he creates a great story around it) but I don't like the movie; the beauty of the story is in the immagination..

I don't like soo much the book "angeli e demoni", I live in Rom and i went to see all the place mantioned in the book and there are a lot of mistakes; but I like the movie (in the story there are less imagination).

have you seen it? do you like it?
tell me..

p. s. in the movie "angeli e demoni" there is in the cast PierFrancesco Favino (capitain Olivetti); he is one of the best italian actors.

no me piace "angeli e demoni"

I thought the series of events was more believable than in the Davinci Code, but I didn't really like either...to unbelievable for me since it is supposed to be "true".

While I did like hearing lots of Italian in the movie now that I understand it more, the Vatican didn't allow them to shoot the movie there, so all of those scenes were made in the computer, which always feel stale and cold to me.

I also saw the ending coming a mile a while.

But I had never heard the name Vittoria before, and I really like it.

I saw Terminator last night....that was even worse!

Angeli e Demoni was actually written first - and was basically the prototype for the Da Vinci Code.

I liked both books. I read several other Dan Brown books - they sort of become formulaic after awhile - but they are good entertainment.

I think that Tom Hanks cast as Langdon was a huge mistake and travesty. I think he must have got the part because of all his money and influence in Hollywood. I am reluctant to see the movie Angeli e Demoni becuase I was so disappointed with him being cast as Langdon.

I read the book about 2 years ago and really like it, then I went to see the movie on Saturday and it was very good but not like the book.Ron Howard took a lot of liberties and really changed the ending. I had to go back and re read the last couple of chapters to make sure I was right and I was. I don't know why he changed the ending like that. It is fiction but a better read than a movie.
A local movie critic gave Gamorrah a very bad review, he said there was to much blood shed and the story line was very hard to follow as was the book.

Here is my review on the movie.

I thought the overall plot setup was good, and the fact that it was set in Roma was a plus.

With that being said, i thought it was a tad unrealistic. What was with the "bad guy" being all James Bondish? He's repelling from buildings, pulling out a silenced handgun taking out the entire Carabinieri, Italian Police and Vatican security......not to mention his ninja-like skills. Then there was the anti-matter explosion. I'm no physicist, but i'm pretty sure that was a little exagerated. Plus the "super father" parachuting from a helicopter. It was just a little much for me.

Overall, If it was filmed anywhere else other than Italia, i'd be pissed about the $10 i spent on the ticket. Yea thats right, $10, movies are a rip-off.

I'm currently reading Angels and Deamons in Italian, with an open copy of the Inglese version by my side. I have to read every sentance at least four times, and pick up a dictionary every 2 mins to help me get the sense out of the Italian.

It's rotten, third rate, formulaic writing.
But it's not bad for improving ones Italian.

Phil.

Reading books in the target language is a great way to improve vocabulary!
