There sure is a range to choose from in this site.. is there one newspaper which is the largest and covers international and local news? (like New Zealand's NZ Herald)

Silvio Berlusconi owns one of those newspapers. Might be this one. Corriere della Sera (Milano)

At any rate what a great find this is. Complimenti to Mike e grazie.

The most important Italian newspapers are Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, I think.

I'm not an expert. But many of my Italian friends advised me to read Corriere della Sera (Milano). Also both newspapers (Corriere della Sera e la Ripublica) are written in colloquial Italian and are perfect for reading in Italian.

The most important are "la Repubblica" and "il Corriere della Sera", www.repubblica.it and www.corriere.it,every day around two p.m. on the websites are published the articles that were published in the publication of the morning that you can buy on streets.
For economic arguments the best is "il Sole 24ore", www.ilSole24ore.com.
These for national arguments, but for local issues it is better to read local newspapers like "il Messaggero" for Roma. Every city or region have a lot of local newspaper.

Default I read the news

Paolo, I do read the feeds that are on this website, basically because they are in English . I could probably read them in Italian but I would struggle and not get the full meaning. I really enjoy reading about what goes on in Italy and especially stories from Naples. Any new additions would be welcome. Keep up the great work.
Grazie MIlle!

Joe, you should take time and smell the roses. I'll bet you don't look at the pictures in the Image Gallery either. There are some really good ones
