Hi Twila,

I love Luigi Tenco. He died in 1967 at the age of 29 but his music is still as beautiful now as it was then. I think it captures the passion of Italy and her people.

most popular italian singers are Ligabue, Vasco Rossi, Laura Pausini, Renato Zero, Zucchero.. there are a lot because each talk about different stories.. my favorite is Max Pezzali because he talk about stories of young, about disco, moto, trip, love.. and uses a very simple language

Music as an art is very subjective. I personally enjoy so many styles and artists that , like most people, can never say who is the favorite. Our moods dictate what we listen to, but overall I find that popular italian music is by far my favorite for it's sensuality, and like the majority of Italians in general, very expressive.

Actually I like listening to Italian music because it is improving my Italian vocab. I am struggling here in S.C. because my tutor is hard to find. (but I am determined.)

Anyway I too love the passion in Italian music. I was hoping for some suggestions to help improve my Italian and to get to know Italy better.

There is a great website out there called www.lastfm.com where you can listen to music from all around the world. Just type in an artist that you know of and you will be able to listen to other artists of the same genre. It is a great way to discover new music.

Another great website is called www.vtuner.com where you can listen to music from all around the world. Just type in the country you want and you will be able to listen to music or see video from that country.

Check out youtube for Italian singers. You can also buy many songs individually on itunes. This is how I am accessing them and it is also helping me with my Italian language.

Now is in top Tiziano Ferro song "Alla mia eta`" and I like so much this and others Tiziano Ferro songs...I`m not big specialist in Italian singers,but I like italian music so much!
My dream is to be in Andrea Bocelli concert,but as I know he dont make often concerts and not so easy to get tickets...
