Default Walking in Monti Sibillini National Park
by Kevan Cummins 05-10-2009, 06:01 PM

I'm planning on walking several of the trails in the Monti Sibillini National Park in Le Marche over the coming months. I will add reviews of the walks to the Sibillini Foothills website here Walking in Monti Sibillini | Sibillini Foothills.

I did the first walk a few weeks back and added a short video of part of the walk through a very narrow gauge. You can read about the walk here and I've added the video clip below - it'a a bit noisy as the river was swollen with the melting snows filling the river through the gorge.

I'm hoping to walk to Lago di Pilato soon but might have to do this walk without the kids as it's a bit longer that the walks they are used to - will post video here when I get to do it - hopefully this month.

It will take you around 4 hours to get there from Forca di Presta (southern end). The trek from Foce is steeper.

Did you do the walk Kevan? I'm seriously considering it on my next visit. CJ - does the Forca di Presta route start just before you go round the corner of Monte Vettore into the Gran Piano? I don't think I fancy the walk up from Foce. I've lunched there several times, and it's a lovely place, but as you say, it promises steep walking!
