Default One Italian American Living in Italy

I just wanted to say I really enjoy this forum and especially the fact that so many Americans and Italian Americans are members. I did not realize how many Italian Americans there were throughout the world and how we all have one thing in common...have Italy in our blood. I actually made the move 10 years ago as I really felt I needed to see if I could make a go of it in Italy. As a single woman it was a great experience. Now as a married mother it is a little different. Although I love Italy, the USA will always be home and I am very very proud to be American. Buona sera tutti e ci vediamo presto.Lucia www.living-italy.blogspot.com

Default I understand

I know how you feel! Someday I know that I would like to spend extended time in Italy. I have always wondered what it would be like to move there and even start a family. And yes, I agree...we do all have a common love for Italy in common! America is my home but Italy is where my roots are. Every day, I think of how blessed I am that my great grandparents, grandparents, and my mother and father passed down the Italian American Culture to me. It's so beautiful!

I completely agree. Italy kind of calls to me, so if I can I will live there as well. I too am glad to have found this forum. Grazie Paolo you are helping us to connect.

It is great hearing from other Italian Americans. It is so strange. I spent my first part of my life wanting to come to Italy and now that I am here I realize that no matter what, USA is home to me. Since I have been in Italy there have been two times that I have really wanted to come home..one was Sept.11 and the other was just recently with the Obama victory. I am so proud to be American! I hope and try to carry this message on two my two kids, whom may I add were both born in the USA. I rushed back for both pregnancies so they can have that!! Glad to be onboard and thanks Paolo for a great site.Lucia
