| | Quarto occhi vedono melgio di due. Two head are better than one. Four eyes see better
Molto carino Listening, e molto utile. Complimenti e grazie mille.
There are a lot of little videos on there.
Do you see that one blond lady where it says Let's learn Italian?
She says she is from Sardegna but I understand
her perfectly. Can'treally pick up on any regional accent with her.
Sounds just like a lady I met in Perugia. O quasi. I know everybody speaks
standard Italian in Italy but there seems to always be some kind of regional
accent you can pick up on. Per esempio, talked to this lady from
Napoli awhile back. Noticed her accent right off.
Sono contento che posso capire alla perfeccione una persona della Sardegna.
They always talk about how different the people from Sardegna talk e cosi via.
Well, come to think of it had never heard anybody from Sardegna talk and always wanted to.
There is a French and Spanish alfabeto on there anche.
Ho imparato molto oggi!
Grazie, Listening.

Nice videos, on Youtube you can really find many useful videos to learn Italian. @Villa: Quarto occhi vedeno melgio di due= Quattro occhi vedono meglio di due; efectivo = effettivo (but in the kind of sentence you made effettivo is not the most proper word, probably we Italians would use something as utile.
Please please please don't think I'm joking around your spelling mistakes or being rude, just making you realize them as those are words one often uses in Italian, and it's better to know the correct version.
And then you say you vuoi imparare molto, so I hope you don't take my correction as offensive.
@Listening-center:
Just out of curiosity I'd like to know where you come from, because your English doesn't seem mother tongue, so I'm trying to figure it out but don't get nowhere. Maybe you are from East Europe?

| | a very important rule hi every body
i come with a classic rule for studying italiano or another language
it is READING and READING and READING, coz im sure that is a wonderful mean to have fun and to practicewhat u get in courses ,coz learning rules without practice dnt have value ,
so practicing, means reading, doing some exercices...nd finally if possible writing.
for that we can choose books to read ,nd discuss afther reading, what do u think ?

Originally Posted by ***Stef*** "Ci" usually means "us", so when you say "Ci vediamo settimana prossima" it means something like "We will see (each other) the next week". In this kind of sentences "ci" is needed to underline that the verb is reflexive: the closest english translation would sounds something like "We will see ourselves the next week"; if one would say "(noi) vediamo la settimana prossima" without "ci", "the next week" will become the direct object of the verb, which is meaningless. there are also other meanings of "ci" in Italian, such as in "Il libro non ci sta sullo scaffale", which means "there is no space for the book on the shelf"; in this case it's used to say *where* the book cannot be placed. You could say the same sentence without ci ("Il libro sta sullo scaffale"), but there would be a slight shift of meaning (the book *isn't* on the shelf); besides that, the sentence would be a regionalism, so would be incorrect in terms of standard Italian. I'm afraid words like "ci", which, if i remember well, are called particelle pronominali, aren't always regulated by grammar rules, sometimes what makes their use right or wrong is just the habit developed during the ages.
For what concerns "se" before a verb, it has the same meaning as "if" in english, at least in your example: it's the if-clause of a hypothesis, which should be followed by a main-clause ("Se premo le spine della rosa, mi pungo" - "if i push the rose thorns, i'll prick myself").
I hope this could be helpful to you! | Thanks so much for the explanation, Stef. I was afraid the use of "ci" was going to be a matter of just learning by osmosis! Your explanation does help though.
