Beginning Italian learners with a little practice should be able to read and understand this.

riso preferisco solo it latte.

True 'zafferano' is fu...ng expensive !
The industrial one in our stores is more or less a "zafferano flavoured" yellow powder. I've heard that tons of flowers are needed to make some grams of Zafferano and it doesn't even grow everywhere.

Lo Zafferano used to be used as money in certain countries! I know that il risotto alla milanese is good, but not good enough to justify the price of Zafferano at least the one I found here in the US. Make a risotto al Marsala, it is much more tasteful.

I loved my roast pumpkin (butternut squash) risotto. After you serve it pop a few pieces of fetta cheese in. Not italian I know but somehow it works. I thing it is something to do with the creaminess of the risotto, the sweetness of the pumpkin with the saltiness and tang of the feta.

I am going to print out the first entry and translate it for myself and keep it for reference, there are some great word there.
