Ciao Elliana. I am new to this forum and hope you are still an active member so you see my reply. I totally understand your feelings which are perfectly normal. I live in Italy and have two young children and my husband pretty much works 7 days a week. I live in a small town and the one thing that really started to change things around was my getting out there to meet other moms, expats, local people, etc. You sound like an active person and I have no doubt you will through patience have a wonderful adventure. I too am on the lookout for more networking groups so keep me informed too. Good luck.Lucia www.living-italy.blogspot.com
I too am contemplating relocation to north of Italy, with kids & husband (of Italian heritage) in tow
In reading your post it has allowed me the confidence to venture forward into the unknown as well.. We are planning to our relocation for 2010. Best wishes for your trip back to Italy. If it isn't too late, I found the most awesome website re: kids travel to Italy. There is one page in particular that you may find of interest on the ciaobambino website: travel tips - flights (really great list of practical items you will need for the plane).
Hi Angel,
Sorry I only just saw your post today! Thanks heaps for the helpful links. Good luck with your relocation too mate! It's been pretty tough for the first few months, but I'm slowly getting used to life here. Kids are loving it as their cousins come round all the time to play. Baby steps.....
Where are you planning on moving to and how old are your curtain climbers?
I leave for northern Italy precisamente oggi! Milano, Verona, Vicenza e cosi via. Prima pero vado a Parigi.
Quest'estate andrņ 6 giorni a Parigi 2 giorni in Switzerland e il resto del tempo in Italia.
Ci vidiamo!
I don't know what people replied but I will say this that its nice to focus on good things but sometimes people don't want to hear the negatives about moving to a new place and the realities are that its better to listen before you make the move because once it's done you can never say no one told me. I would personally want to hear the good and bad aspects of taking a new adventure. Though I don't know what was written so I can't judge but I can say that Italy is a great country but it's hard for single people to survive let alone a family and I know I may be looked down apon for writing that but reality is reality and if you have a support group then it's great but if not it'll make it hard but in the end anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
