I am getting a tattoo in italian and i want to be sure it is translated correctly because they last for ever! haha

Well the translation is 'La rabbia puo' essere un lusso costoso' But it does not sound totally ok since rabbia is also rabid ( like a rabid dog ... )

How do you translate the word "wild ginny pig" (animal from rabbit family)in Italian. You in the states they raise them as pets but in the sourthern regions they are wild and used for eating like rabbit. I had the greatest tomato ragu made from wild ginny pig in my home town. Not even my Italian professor new the Italian word for the animal.

do you mean 'guinea pig'...in italian it is supposed to be known as cavia or porcellino d'India..
the one the american have as pets is called hamster or 'criceto' in italian

Thanks.. I thought it was spelt "Ginny" but yes in Calabria we call them porcellino salvagio. You boil a pot of water as if you are preparing to cook fresh lobster and drop the wild animal in it skins so easy and cleanly. What a fantastic meat so delicate like rabbit but much better, then you added with the ingredients when preparing a meat sauce "ragu". It was the best ragu sauce I had ever tasted! Cavia is the proper Italian word for Guinea Pig.
