| | Not all perfume is expensive... An old Italian woman is riding the elevator in a very lavish New York City Office Building. A young and beautiful woman gets into the elevator and smelling like expensive perfume turns to the old Italian woman and says arrogantly, "Giorgio Beverly Hills, $100 an ounce!" The next young and beautiful woman gets on the elevator and also very arrogantly turns to the old Italian woman and says, "Chanel No. 5, $150 an ounce!" About three floors later, the old Italian woman has reached her destiny and is about to get off the elevator. Before she leaves, looks both beautiful women in the eye, she bends over, and farts... "Broccoli - 49 cents a pound." | | The Following User Says Thank You to Steve Evans For This Useful Post: | |

A (subtle) perfume on a woman (or man if you're female or that way inclined!) is great, but the overpowering smell can be sometimes too much if it's overused. As for "designer labels" - if you have money to burn and prefer to spend it covering up your own pheromones (or if you just don't wash ) OK, but most of it is just show - as in "designer" handbags - a well made alternative does the job just as well, often looks better, and doesn't scream "I've been taken in by all the advertising and want to contribute to Gucci's millions/billions and want to show I have more money than taste"

i luv fashion designing and hope to be the next Gucci or so, but i would never hope to be the next Gucci's obsessed customer
it's ok to treat yourself every once in a while but i don't think you should weigh yourself by the labels you wear, it often sends the message of lack of self esteem

one more thing, just because so and so designed something or because it costs much that doesn't mean you have to like it, you should have your own opinion,

Giovittorio, Markymark and Nouran,
Well said, everyone. And, Giovittorio, you made me look up the latin phrase as well - "There's no accounting for taste" fits this discussion perfectly.
