First of all let me say that I don't understand how we make it from generation to generation with these kinds of attitudes.

It seems that every group has to fight for the rights the previous group just fought for.

I know even if it is, it was more than half a century ago but just reading it made me angry
but I liked the part where they told women to be gay and happy around their husbands, I think if marriage was like that then being "gay" would definitely help

It is from a real magazine. There was actually a whole book dedicated to teaching women how to be wives choke full of good advise like in that article. I'll try and find it

Well Mike, maybe I'm being a monster in thinking this, but imho if you water it down a bit, erase some of the most exxagerated things, what is left would be great suggestions to keep a happy marriage.

As sexist as that article may seem, as a man I can't help admitting that I would love a marriage like that! But maybe because I'm not one who would like to stay out late or do anything sneaky and I don't have any devious or domineering intentions. I think that as long as the man is an honest one and a wife behaves in such a way, well that seems like a pretty good deal then. I mean, chivalry has died in a way, perhaps this is because women have stopped acting like wives and more like an "equal share partner." We have put too much emphasis on who has more power, but I think that if a wife were to act similarly to this, then wouldn't the man be inclined to act more kindly to the wife? Wouldn't it create a balance? I'm not saying this to spur argument just a simple observation and out loud pondering, but please tell me what you think and if you feel the direction our society has gone is for the better or worse.

correct me if I'm wrong but you are saying that women should be weaker or less than men for men to feel superior and take pity on them and be chivalrous !!!
why can't both men and women be equal partners and both show some chivalry and respect towards each other, if you like having a weaker partner in the relationship then let's have men do these humiliating things in the list and see how they feel and then may be their wives would show some chivalry.

It doesn't look difficult at all, surely not more than a real job

And we shouldn't forget that one of the best sides of love is to make the other person happy, if you love someone so much you do the most of those things naturally and gladly I think.
