You mean I finally stumped you? A testament to your excellent English language skills - I had to resort to an acronym. As Zidane says, it is an acronym for "Rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off", absent the comma. The Falcon of the Nile bowled me over with his comment.

Before I share my point of view I would like to state that I'm a very modern woman with two MBAs :-) I work full time and I make good money.

BUT in my personal life I agree with those statements and I live by them. I truly do. I work full time so I cannot cook every night and have warm/cold drinks ready :-) but I do cook very often, I set the table and I do have drinks ready. I also shop for some men. I wash and iron cloths. And I saw. Why? Because I agree with these statements and Zidanie5's comment => this is what keeps the relationship going.

See, the form of life changes with time e.g. we no longer plant crops and hunt rabits every night so that we can have dinner. BUT the core of men and women DON'T CHANGE. I truly believe this is the only way to be in a happy relationship as it reflects the nature of men and women.

And more so, I enjoy cooking especually for men. And I am quite good at it ;-)

So Paolo, are you still changing models every couple of years? Who is the lucky one now? ;-)

Personally I don't think it matters who does it, as long as the balance is right. In my relationship, he does the cooking (he's excellent at it) and I do the DIY (and I'm a whizz at this). It works because we respect and appreciate what the other one brings into the relationship.

What about homosexual relationships? How are the "gender roles" divided here?

I really don't think there's a woman natural roles and a man natural roles, it just erases the concept of being unique. I HATE cooking, I don't even remember actualy cooking anything other than eggs, while some guys love cooking and they are good at it e.g. ghordon ramsey from "hell's kitchen" and many other widely known cooks. I don't think that all women/men share same interests or goals or roles in life just because they belong to the same sex. you like cooking that's great, but that doesn't mean that all women are born with that passion.
I agree with you sienna that a balance needs to be mantained (I guess I'd have to remove you from my blacklist lol) but that balance doesn't need to come in one form only, each couple or any partners of any relationship need to find there own terms and roles that satisfy their different personalities
