Angels & Demons - A deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by the Illuminati!

I'm currently reading this mystery thriller. It takes place in Italy.
Before the Da Vinci Code was broken the world lay at the mercy of Angels & Demons.
I highly recommend it. Got the book and the CDs.

Can't say I agree

I found A+D sort of silly, especially since I read DaVinci Code first - same basic detective story formula, complete with the "girl" that Langdon always seems to get. The reader is always two steps ahead of the "sybology expert" and his eye candy...

Just goes to show you how far hype can go to sell a book.

To be honest, the more I read Dan Brown the less I want to read Dan Brown.

Can't say I agree

Personally, I have found all of Dan Brown's book entertaining and engaging. I guess I like the "formula".

If You've Read 1 Dan Brown Book Have You Read them All?

I just finished this one about a month ago and found it entertaining although not very illuminating (pun definitely intended.) I read The DaVinci Code first, too, then 'Digital Fortress' so I spotted a lot of the 'formula' plot twists and surprises as the story moved on. There's a lot of truth-pulling and page-turning, just little in the way of realistic character development.

I did enjoy the story's back drop and often Googled certain sites to see the pictures.

Very true: "The reader is always two steps ahead of the "sybology expert" and his eye candy..."

I have only read the Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. I thought they were good reads but after visiting Piazza Navona (I think thats the one) and knowing that there are tons of people around all the time, the scene where he is wrestling with the Albino in the fountain is just too unbelievable. No one seems to notice them .
I wonder if Dan Brown ever even went to Rome?

Wait, the assassin in Angels & Demons was an Albino? I thought that was DaVinci Code.

But you bring up a very good point about the Piazza. I guess you could argue that everyone had gathered around the doomed concave. But still...

Not another Albino assassin!?!

I read it 3 years ago, maybe it wasn't an Albino, I have trouble remembering what I had for lunch yesterday! Guess I'll have to go back and read it again.

Wonderful book, a wonderful way of getting in touch with Rome's marvels without being bored by dozens of guides.
The assassin was definitely not Albino.
I liked this better than the Da Vinci Code

Ps: I actually had to read them all after reading one :P
