Default Moto trade

Paolo,
Thanks for organizing the Moto section of LIL. I have enjoyed your info very much.
I too am a motorcycle tourist.
I would like to propose a trade:
I have two bikes, both fully equipted for long distance travel. I would like to host an Italian rider for a tour of the American Southwest. I live in Southwest Colorado, which offers some of the most spectacular motorcyle touring in North America. In one days travel from here, a rider can reach: The Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Monument Valley, Las Vegas, and many more. Two days will bring you to the Pacific Ocean and the California coast. Closer to home is the San Juan Mts, which offer many fantastic day trips amongst 13-14,000 ft. mountains along the Continental divide.
In exchange, would like to spend several weeks touring Italy by motorcycle, preferably the South, but I'm open to any itinerary. This is currently an open proposal with no dates as of yet.
Anyone interested ??
Joel

Default Italy Sep28 to Oct 16 2009

Palo
Hello ... My wife and I are planning a motorcycle trip to Italy during the dates of Sept 28th to Oct 16th. So far I have found rentals for bikes to be around 800 to 1000 euro per week. Would love to hear if you have better connections for rentals or better yet I wish I could do a exchange... We exchange motorcycles and homes with another motorcyclest living in Italy... I live in Sacramento CA and have a 2005 BMW R1200GS.
Bob

Well the first thing you need is motorcycle gear: a helmet, a riding suit, gloves, boots (hiking boots are what I use) and a rainsuit.

I'll be riding in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy this year during a 5 1/2 week tour from the end of May till the first week in July. This will also be my 15th year in a row touring Europe.

Monte Baldo, Northern Italy...
