RE: WW 2 vet needs help in 'war child' research.

What means are available in researching to see if a friend of mine fathered a child in Bagnoli Italy about 50 years ago?

THX & God Bless!

Chi cerca trova. He who seeks will find.

What comes to mind in this case though is: E come cercare un ago in un pagliaio. Or in Spanish: Es como buscar una aguja en un pajar. (Like looking for a needle in a haystack.)

There must be some way of looking up information in cases like this. I'll ask around.

Hi Mandolin,

I read your entry earlier today but didn't want to be the first one to reply, are you the "friend" who is looking for your love child? Sorry to be so abrupt but that is my nature....

Good point Alassiolady. Didn't even think of that. You're very perceptive.
LOL! You have to be right the more you think about it. He shouldn't be ashamed at all though.
At any given time there are 18,000 U.S. military personnel in Italy. It must happen a lot.

Hey honeybunch, I am 61yrs old (but don't look it I know!)and have been around the block a time or two and sense these things....and Mandolin if it is you who is looking for your 'child' who is fifty years old you are
going to be opening a real bag of worms, so think long and hard about what could happen if this really is the case....

Good point about the bag of worms.

So if Mandolin fathered the child that would make it around 1944 since World War 11 ended then.
Wait a minute. Was the friend a veteran or even in the U.S. Army? This is getting confusing but interesting.
