| | Why is Bush Buying up Half of Rome!!!
There was an exceptional villa known to me in a wonderful magazine called Roma Oggi Ieri & Domani, unfortunately they have been discontinued due to the costs. Villa Manzoni was an abandoned but incredibly gorgous Roman Noble Villa, and up until last year or in 2005 it was still abandoned according to a woman I knkow that lives close by. It is up on a road that is surrounded by country but pratically in Rome. When I asked her if it was still free, she said I think, no, some Americans just bought it----- The names are BUSH. Why on god's earth has he bought up half of Rome????? They are 3 people and have already let thousands die for their investments, why do they need to make more??

| | Roman Bushes
Jacqueline,
Now it's my turn to be depressed... the Bush family bought a villa there?? Lord. Are you sure it's the same Bushes?
I'm not even sure what to say about this. I can just imagine him there in his cowboy boots, speaking Italian as fluently as he speaks Spanish... ugh.
Keep us posted if you hear more!
Teresa

| | The Roman Villa
I realize that this posting is a bit late, but then again it is timely. Yes, it seems someone had grand plans in the making and now we see the tensions in Vicenza, this is all related you realize that, don't you?........It would have been nice if the Villa had been bought and used for some cultural project. We don't know if it is maybe another Bush family. But if it is THE Bush family...well, since he has the largest military base in all of Europe right here in Italy, it is no wonder he wants to have a presence here. What a nice thought for the day. It is like a big bulldozer isn't it?

I'll see if I can learn which Bush family bought the villa. I'd hate to dislike him for something he didn't do... I can dislike him enough for all the things he's doing!

| | Bush in Rome
I remember that day in June. I was on the terrace of a friends penthouse which is in the Flaminio section of Rome when he looked at me and said, " Look across the way, over there where those beautiful villas are....in that one Bush is staying..............it was then when I had the bad urge to flip him off..........he said, bodyguards will be survieling all corners of it, they probably can even see you now...and that's when I did it.

| | How SAD that the Bush family is allowed to buy anything in Italy. That family has done enough damage to the United States without spreading problems abroad. I hope the Italians show them no welcome to Italy, maybe they will sell and move on.
