Default Soldiers Massacred in Texas

This is horrible!

A solider suspected of fatally shooting 12 and wounding 31 at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday is not dead as previously reported, Army Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said Thursday evening.

A civilian officer who was wounded in the incident shot the suspect, who is "in custody and in stable condition," Cone told reporters.

"Preliminary reports indicate there was a single shooter that was shot multiple times at the scene," Cone said at a news conference. "However, he was not killed as previously reported."

Villa - yes I read , pretty sad story. Any idea why this things tend to happen more in the US ? Normally I would say because of non gun control in the US but of course soldiers from all nations have gun and we cannot remove guns from soldiers.

I think it is a cultural thing and that Americans are more inherently violent than other countries. In countries like Switzerland and Israel, you have large numbers of people who serve in the militia who have weapons in their homes and you don't see the massive numbers of mass murders like you see in the US.

California and Canada have roughly equal sized populations. More people are murdered each year in California with knives than are murdered in Canada by all methods. So, even if you take away American's guns, they are going to continue to slaughter each other by other methods.

I agree, and it's no big surprise:
US was born, grew up, and still lives around constant bloodsheds, it couldn't be otherwise.
And it's a vicious circle: as violence grows it attracts more violence as a reaction, and so on ad libitum.
