Default Rape stats in Milan area

I was listening to the news today ( I am in Rome ) and they announced a rape to a woman by two Maroccan citizen. The 'procuratore' handling the case also mentioned in an interview that out of the 25 rape Milan had reported in 2009 23 where perpetrated by foreigners. It is a very allarming number 23 out of 25 - There is also the possibility that other rape by Italian are not reported as well ( maybe trying to protect relative - a friend etc etc ) but still considering the relative small number of foreigners in Italy the stats looks pretty bad. It also explains why an increasing number of Italians are turning against immigrants.

every time news say the nationality of the aggressor.. it seems more important than the crime.. often it seems that if the rape was committed by an italian would be less serious.. remember that here the last elections were won thanks to the security promised by the government

Buongiorno. The crime of rape is awful regardless of statistical analysis. It is my humble opinion that the statistics presented are meant to indicate the majority of the population who partake in this horrible crime in comparison to native Italians and immigrants/foreigners. Again, this is only my opinion. Grazie. Paula

Luca - a rape crime is awful anyway. This is something I heard today on the news ( you would have heard too if you watched the lunch time news ) - I have no idea on how reliable are those stats - Yes the government promised more security and I am afraid that one of the issue that allowed the right to win was just the more anti-immigrant policy the right takes vs the more liberal immigrant policy the left adopts.
