Default Franca Viola - "The Most Beautiful Wife" Why isn't she up for sainthood in Italy?!

Just watched the Italian movie "The Most Beautiful Wife" which is based on the true story of Franca Viola.
Franca Viola should be up for sainthood. She did more for women's rights in Italy than anybody else. All the odds
were against her. She was alienated by her family, friends and the local church yet she stood up for what she thought
was right. Franca Viola's actions changed the course of the Italian justice system in the 1960's. Why in God's day this
courageous Italian woman(teenager at the time 17 years old) is not a house hold name in Italy is beyond me.
(Paolo has said he never heard of her.)
Found out about Franca Viola il anno passato in a class at the Universita di Perugia.
La professoresa says Franca lives somewhere in the north but nobody knows dove.

Franca Viola, born in Alcamo in 1947, was the first woman in Sicily to refuse marriage by kidnape and rape, becoming
a symbol of the growth of civil 'Italy after the Second World War and Italian women's empowerment.

The director of the movie also talks all about Franca Viola on the The Most Beautiful Wife disc.
He says the movie is based on the true story of Franca Viola so there is no mistaking who the movie is about.

A proposito, the movie is very well done. They are speaking in standard Italian unless io suddenly got
il potere to understand Siciliano.

Come mai Zidanie? How so? The movie is based on the real life story of Franca Viola. The director says so in the interview he gives
on the DVD. He really goes out of his way to make the point that it is the story of Franca Viola and not somebody else or just made up.
The names were changed in the movie but the story more or less is suppose to be what happened to Franca Viola.

Seems like there are a lot of cases like this not just in Italy but everywhere that just don't get the attention they should.

Or maybe you're talking about the Monica Belluci movie. In that case you'll get no agrument from me.
