First, I think it's fine. It offers an option for women and going or not going is their decision, certainly not mine (or anyone else's).

Second, I agree that it would be better if men could grow up a bit and develop a respectful attitude toward women. If things ever developed to the point that women en mass chose self segregation at the beach (unlikely as that may be) then the opportunities for men to grow out of their attitude would be diminished.

Third, it would be interesting to know the percentage of men that can't seem to have a relationship with women without harassing or abusing them I have to hope that it's a small percentage - but I'm an optimist.

interesting topic and I too agree there is no easy answer:
I don't like the "pink and white" part or the "cookery lessons" or the "manicure" as I think it's stereotypical and giving the idea that women should like the colour pink and be good at cooking and just looove the idea of wearing all that make-up to "look good", also the idea of only having a women only beach sends that message of women being victims all of the time which is not true, also having male lifeguards , I think a women only beach is a good idea when you remove the "pink factor" and also a men only beach would be good, I mean it would be a good place for having fun with your friends, no husbands/wives or boyfriends/girlfriends.

Although I am not in a position to vote (being both hetero & male, and all), but I see nothing wrong with a female only beach. Let it find its own way. If it works for women great, if it doesn't it will change to something. No need to fear something like this.

My commentary on men and women is that with the increasing amount of affluence in the world, men and women do not necessarily need each economically, so there if there needs to be more space allowed for individual needs, how can we quarrel over that?

I guess I am just glad not to have to attend a beach that uses the color pink ;-)
