Ciao,

I have been working on my family tree and I'm at a dead end with my grandfather's side. My grandfather was born in Celano Italy 1901,His parents were Guiseppe Rico & Guiseppa Maria Contestabile 1866, both born in Celano Italy and died in Celano. I know of 2 children Ulderico and Emelino Rico. They both immigrated to USA around 1920's.
Just wanted to know if there is certain place to obtain family records with more informatin on the family unit. Example, more brothers or sisters of Ulderico and Emelino Rico. Any information would be appreciated.

Another site that's a good springboard to further research is www.cyndislist.com/ It contains links to a vast range of other sites with sections on Italy, immigration and many others.

As far as I am aware there isn't a central archives repository in Italy so you will have to contact the local Anagrafe for most of your research.

A excellent website is www.ancestry.com. , but the information is very limited on recoeds for Italy.
