Venice, Italy nothing quite like it on earth!
Venice, Italy
I have been to Venice, Italy many times. It's a fascinating city and I never get tired of it. There is no city on earth quite like Venice.
I lived in Vicenza, Italy for two years and just came back from Vicenza after a month's stay. Vicenza is right in the middle between Venice
and Verona the city of Romeo and Guilieta so one week end I would go to Venice and then another week end I would go to Verona.
Venice is as interesting as it is romantic with it's gondolas and singing goldolers. Besides the canals there is something so special and
fun about walking those backstreets and alleys of Venice. How about a haunting late night ghost walking tour of Venice.
Actually you haven't lived to you've been to Venice, Italy.
Let me know if you want to go with me next year to visit Venice, Vicenza, Verona, Trento and other fascinating places in Italy.
I'm your private tour guide. Let's go in June.
Why it's worth it: Frankly, it's hard to justify a visit in July or August, when tourists jam the bridges, museums, and piazzas. Come in
November, however, when fog creeps through the picturesque alleyways and late-afternoon light creates mysterious shadows, and
you'll swoon at the romance. This is the time to get to know the real Venice and appreciate its many treasures: the Tintorettos in
the Doge's Palace, the Picassos at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, a glass of wine in a dusky bacaro near the Rialto Market.
Insider tip: The touristy restaurants that line the main streets have done a grave disservice to Venetian cuisine's reputation. For
an authentic taste of the city's pasta and seafood dishes, head off the beaten path to eateries like Alle Testiere or Anice Stellato.
