Default Giorgio Bed and B. Vicenza, Italy

Found this great place to stay in Vicenza, Italy. Sono qui adesso.

Giorgio's Bed and Breakfast
Via Trieste 251
Vicenza, Italia
Tel. 0444 304384

The owner is an Italian teacher. He has taken me all over
Vicenza and surronding areas. Veramente he is a fountain of information on Italian culture and the Italian language and history. Sono molto afortunato per dire lo meno. He sings in
Italian with and without the piano he plays. Just what I was looking for.
He speaks no English. Only Italian and some French. In his time they studied
French instead of English. So for total immersion this is the place.

Only 25 euros a day and you get free Italian lessons too. I have recorded all the
interesting things he says about Vicenza, Verona, Italy in general e cosi via.
No extra charge for the free Italian lessons or for the tour of the city he gave
me in his car.

Maybe Villa you can help the website with an Article About Vicenza - If Giorgio offers a place for 25 euro we can add some free advertising for him too - He will like that - An article on the main website will bring him many more visitors than in the forum -

Default Vicenza, Italy

I just wrote this and sent it to a friend.
I'll try and do a full report. Got many pictures.

Sono qui in Vicenza, Italia dove ho vissuto(vivi) due anni molto tempo fa.
I'm here in Vicenza, Italy where I lived for 2 years.

Vicenza is the 3rd largest commerical center in Italy after Rome and Milano.
But don't let that throw you off. There is plenty to see here in Vicenza.

Vicenza's origins go back to Roman times and before.

It rains here in the summer so everything is green with trees, flowers and grass.

Vicenza has it's historical center like most Italian cities. Many of the buildings
were built by the famous builder by the name of Andrea Palladio. Infatti if you
look on the back of an American nickle you will see the picture of Montecello the
house and mansion of Thomas Jefferson the third president of the United States.
The house or manision that was used as a model for Thomas Jefferson's house
Montecello is here in Vicenza and is called la Rotonda. Just look on the back of
an American nickle and you see the same house as here in Vicenza.

The Virgin Mary puts in an appearance in Vicenza!

An interesting story that I like is about the church of Monte Berico which is on
top of a hill. From up there you can see all over Vicenza. It's really a breath
taking view. Took many pictures you'll see. The interesting story is that
according to legend or popular belief this church or the first of this church was
dedicated to the Madonna of Monte Berico and built on the site where the Virgin
Mary appeared to Vincenza citizens in 1426 and 1428 while the inhabitants of
the town were dying of the plague.(plaga) The
Virgin Mary or Madonna promised that if the people of Vicenza built a church on
the top of the hill she would rid them of the plague. The first church was built in
3 months an effectivamente the plague stopped. It's a nice story whether you
believe in the Virgin Mary appearing or not. Che ne dici?
